The Assistant Buyer is responsible for assisting and supporting the execution of the operations required to meet product line goals. Primary responsibilities to include but not limited to; vendor/item follow-up, catalog, sale flyer and internet layouts, and production calendar management.
•Supports the development and fulfillment of product for all marketing channels. •Helps to manage Catalog/Internet product pricing strategies in conjunction with the Marketing Analyst. •Responsible for building catalog and internet pages. Provides photos, item specs and copy material. •Helps in monitoring and reporting product performance levels. •Assists Category Buyer in vendor negotiations and the evaluation and vetting process of potential vendors. •Conducts competitive analysis for pricing and product strategies. •Willing to travel and attend trade shows.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: •Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University and/or 2+ year’s related experience. •Exceptional organizational skills. Must be very detail oriented. •Proficient computer skills with emphasis in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. •Strong interpersonal skills; able to work with vendors and internal departments. •The ability to negotiate with multiple vendors to determine pricing, terms, delivery and shipment minimums. •Knowledge/experience with products in the shooting/sporting industry. •Analytical skills to evaluate merchandise needs, performance, and market conditions
