Granite State Indoor Range and Gun Shop, located at 2 Hampshire Drive in Hudson, New Hampshire is seeking an experienced, ambitious and personable Director of Training to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in growing and expanding our firearms training curriculum.
Granite State Indoor Range and Gun Shop is an established NSSF certified 5 Star indoor shooting and training center housed in one half of an existing 25,400 square foot building and has both tactical and static shooting bays, 25 yard shooting lanes, and state-of-the-art target retrieval and customized air filtration systems. There are two large classrooms and we have is a strong commitment to offering a wide array of beginner to advanced firearms training classes with an emphasis on women and first time shooters. We have a professionally decorated Member’s Lounge for Patriot Gun Club Members. On-site armorer services are provided. We are poised for growth and planning an expansion of the facility.
The Director of Training at Granite State Indoor Range and Gun Shop will bring a strong work ethic and a solid background of firearms instruction to the business. The ideal candidate should have a military and/or law enforcement background and will have a minimum of five years experience in providing beginner to advanced firearms training to civilians. The Director of Training will be responsible for managing all training-related activities including course development and scheduling. In addition to firearms instruction the DOT will train and/or supervise other staff instructors who may teach the firearms orientation and basic courses. He or she will organize and oversee the regularly scheduled shooting competitions, leagues and monthly tournaments. The Director of Training will be expected to implement GSIR policies and ensure that range safety takes precedent over all else. The number one priority of Granite State Indoor Range and Gun Shop is Safety followed closely by providing exceptional customer service and a wide array of training courses.
The Director of Training will report directly to the General Manager and indirectly to the CEO. This will be a full-time position. The Director of Training is expected to work five days per week including weekends. The position includes individual health and dental benefits and one week paid vacation beginning in Year One. The qualified candidate will receive a minimum starting salary in the $50,000 plus range with benefits and potentially bonuses for meeting sales targets.
Responsibilities – The Director of Training’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
-Working with the CEO and GM to develop the training curriculum and schedule classes. -Screen, interview, hire and evaluate all instructors. CEO will have final approval on all new hires. -Training and supervision of all full-time and part-time staff instructors. -Coordination, orientation and supervision of all visiting or adjunct instructors. -Organize and oversee regularly scheduled shooting competitions, leagues, tournaments and other shooting related events. The Director of Training may delegate some of these responsibilities, as staff members who are willing and able express an interest in doing so, with approval of the General Manager. -Possess strong decision-making skills, problem-solving skills and conflict-management abilities. DOT will work with CEO and GM to resolve any range related customer complaints or problems and determine optimal solutions.
-A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required if the candidate has exceptional experience. -Working well with team members and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. -Strong leadership skills, highly flexible, driven, team oriented, organized, focused, motivator with staff development skills.
