Job Summary: We are seeking a highly energetic and experienced Director of Marketing to be responsible for planning, development and leading successful implementation of Riton’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. This individual will oversee development and implementation of support materials and services in the area of marketing, communications and public relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1.The position reports to the CEO and serves as a member of the senior management team. 2.The Director of Marketing has primary working relationships with the Executive Team, senior management team, staff of the Marketing/Communications/P.R. function, and service providers. 3.Outside of Riton staff, the Director of Marketing will be responsible for coordinating, primarily, with the media and ensuring Riton “messaging” is properly communicated and distributed to necessary channels. 4.Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of: a.A comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance Riton’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public. b.Riton’s organizational marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations, client acquisition and so forth. c.Ensuring articulation of Riton’s desired image and position, assuring consistent communication of image and position throughout the Riton as well as assuring communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external. d.Establish processes and policies around Riton brand image and communication. 5.Coordinate media interest in Riton and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests. 6.Coordinate the appearance of all Riton print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc. 7.Ensure that the marketing team regularly conducts relevant market research and monitors industry trends. 8.Lead such as cause-related marketing and special events. 9.Develop short- and long-term plans, goals and budgets for the marketing/communications/ public relations program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, business management, public relations, marketing, journalism, communications or related field and 5+ years of 2A industry marketing experience (Optics specific experience desired).
Required Skills: 1.Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities. 2.Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal skills. 3.Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel. 4.Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media. 5.Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications. 6.Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout. 7.Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams. 8.Strong oral and written communications skills. 9.Ability to manage multiple projects at a time. Preferred Skills: 1.Extensive experience and understanding of the outdoor/shooting/2A community including trends, technologies, products and mainstay brands. 2.Optics specific experience and/or knowledge.
Travel Requirements: 1.Ability to travel as required, estimated to be 20% or more national and international.
