Job Summary: Manufacture bullets/projectiles through the use of press and cold heading machines. This position requires great attention to detail, a thoroughness of understanding the manufacturing processes, equipment, product and a keen ability to troubleshoot problems. This position requires absolute discipline with regard to product quality assurance, safety, documentation and product delivery schedule.
• Performs operational checks to insure all correct components are collected to feed the machine (brass / lead) • Observes machine functions to ensure normal operation. • Measure and gauge finished cartridges throughout the production shift using handheld measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers. • Inspect finished cartridges to ensure they meet company technical and quality standards • Perform manual machining operations to dress tooling on mills, lathes, grinders, etc. • Corrects malfunctions. • Fulfill the daily production quotas and complete all documents associated with it. • Maintains safe and clean working environment at all times by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. • Polish and package finished ammunition for final inspection. • Cleans machine at the end of the shift. • Communicate questions or concerns with supervision, management and the quality department • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM • High School diploma or equivalent • Ability to recognize problems and find solutions • Availability for a flexible work schedule based on business needs, i.e. nights and weekends when necessary • Ability to work independently • Ability to work under pressure • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical machinery & programmable logic controllers • Ability to work in a fast paced environment • Ability to interoperate technical data including users manuals and engineering drawings • Flexibility to adjust workflow daily and still maintain overall requirements • Excellent eyesight with or without correction for close inspection work
