JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, Retailer Services, the Manager, Retailer Services creates and manages programs and communication initiatives that will assist the retail segment of firearms industry to succeed in an increasingly competitive and highly regulated business environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain direct communication with independent firearms retailers to keep a pulse on current retail market conditions and situational challenges retailers are confronting.
Capture member data and feedback in the CRM and share with team members.
Assist with managing the activities of the Retail Advisory Committee, which is comprised of renowned retailers from across the country and tap their knowledge to develop and implement retailer support programs that add value to association membership.
Assist with management of continuing education for firearms retailers including but not limited to SHOT Show University, Retail Education Seminars, webinars, podcasts, on-line classes and training videos.
Primary contact for the NSSF Retailer Hotline so that retailer members receive the timely and accurate answers to their questions within 24 hours.
Engage firearms retailers through social and emerging media platforms including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Yelp, Pinterest, Google+, blog posts and podcasts.
Represent the association at industry events, meetings and shows.
Work collaboratively with Member Services team to increase retailer membership.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate special projects as assigned.
Must be able to travel approximately 25%.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in retail sales of shooting sports products.
Experience in regulatory compliance.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Excellent presentation skills and familiarity with A/V equipment.
Experience with a variety of social and emerging media platforms.
Familiarity with all segments of the industry distribution system: manufacturing, wholesale and retail.
Proven sales and negotiating skills.
Proficiency with current Microsoft Windows applications and MS office suite products.
Must be able and willing to travel.
Must be eligible to lawfully purchase and possess firearms.
Valid driver’s license required.
