This multi-skilled job classification requires some basic merchandising skills. The Associate Buyer compiles and maintains records of business transactions and office activities while maintaining excellent relationships with Primary Arms, LLC’s vendors. This is a full-time position with predominantly daytime hours. Extended hours required during holiday seasons. *** Some travel may be required to attend trade shows or other industry related events Responsibilities and Duties
Create, update, and manage product assortment Promotion planning, forecasting, and ordering Prepare for meetings and shows (create reports, review information, set up meetings, etc.) Track new releases, competitive pricing, product announcements, and rebates Control stock levels based on forecasts for the season Liaise with expediters, analysts, other departments, suppliers and distributors Monitor slow sellers and acting to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary Gather information on customers' reactions to products Analyze the previous season's sales and reporting on the current season's lines Meet with suppliers and managing the distribution of stock, by negotiating cost prices, ordering stock, agreeing timescales and delivery dates and completing the necessary paperwork Identify production and supply difficulties and dealing with any problems or delays as they arise Test sample products Knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures
Copies data and compiles records and reports Extensive knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements Performs data entry of all purchase orders Contacts vendors with discrepancies with quantity and quality
