With new undertakings afoot at Guns.com (currently confidential), we are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and creative Social Media Manager for our Richmond, VA location. The ideal candidate will be someone who can develop our brand and build strong online communities through our various social media platforms. The position will be responsible for content creation and curation, constant growth of our social media presence, and daily administration of our social media accounts with the goal of engaging users and creating interactive relationships between consumers and the company.
The successful candidate will have proven social media experience and firearms/ammunition industry experience. This position will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Define and implement social media strategy through competitive research, benchmarking, audience identification and evolving industry best practices. • Work with the technology and digital marketing teams to collaborate on ecommerce elements, projects, and initiatives as it relates to social media. • Develop creative, resourceful, and original methodologies to continually promote social media growth. • Provide regular analytics reporting of social channel growth, engagement, and effectiveness of our social campaigns. • Communicate directly with followers and fans, building strong relationships and maintaining a visible external presence on industry social media channels, forums, etc. • Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding our brand and report to appropriate parties. • Collaborate with current teammates to create and curate social media visual assets that are on-brand and coincide with the overall ecommerce and digital marketing strategy for use on all social media channels and accounts. • Research and develop proposals for working with relevant industry influencers. Where approved, manage influencer, blogger, and online media relationships. • Work with the Marketing Team (including agencies) on social media extensions of branding campaigns to generate brand awareness. • Attend trade shows and other industry events to cover from a social media perspective. • Measure and report monthly performance of social media efforts and track progress against goals (ROI and KPIs).
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or related field • 3+ years’ experience in social media management • Exceptional multi-tasking skills • Strong problem-solving skills • Experience with ecommerce/web-based businesses with a strong understanding of ecommerce/digital marketing and the ability to link product value with lifestyle content • Full understanding of the principles of social media through prior knowledge of and experience with social strategy, reporting, audience building, engagement optimization, etc. • Familiarity with multiple social media analytics tools, KPIs, and reporting • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design software, and other relevant social media platforms • Experience in lifestyle brand building and awareness • Hunting/shooting/outdoor industry experience and knowledge, with an awareness of industry influencers
