This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for leadership, performance management and hiring of the employees within the department. As part of the operations team, the FFL Manager is responsible for the day-to-day FFL Department operations and FFL Compliance. Responsibilities include processing, real time department operations, training and scheduling. This is an in-house full-time position with predominantly daytime hours. Extended hours required during holiday seasons. FFL Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities: Verifies company’s compliance with ATF requirements. Conducts FFL audits. Manages the FFL and ATF Form 4473 processes (including instant criminal background system checks). Manages the preparation, maintenance, and process transfer forms for all NFA and ATF inventory. Manages local and national dispositions of tens of thousands of controlled items. Ensures that bound books and electronic logs are accurately maintained. Ensures that the facility is prepared for ATF required audits. Works with shipping and receiving departments to ensure that all firearms are received and shipped in accordance with ATF regulations. Interfaces with directors to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases. Implements contingency plans as needed; escalates and directs activities during systems problems, disasters, etc.; identifies potential problems, troubleshoots, escalates issues to management, and participates in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements. Completes departmental operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. Ensures that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met. Ensures that personnel are customer focused in order to comply with the company goal of “World Class Customer Service”. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with the established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested within the Primary Arms team.
Requirements: Five (5) or more years FFL experience Two (2) or more years’ FFL compliance experience Two (2) or more years’ personnel management experience Knowledge of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) requirements and forms Strong attention to detail Highly organized Competencies: The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas: professional manner, pleasant personality, PC proficiency, productivity, dependability, skilled in Microsoft Office, customer/client focus, excellent interpersonal skills, analytical and problem solving skills, decision making skills, very effective organizational skills, project management, teamwork orientation, ability to work with cross-functional teams, stress management skills, and strong time management skills. Minimum age requirement is 21 years of age.
