Researches, designs, and develops new processes and systems for the manufacture of brass casings. Highly experienced technical expert and leader skilled in improving existing processes and implementing new processes. Supports multiple processes and makes a significant contribution in the areas of continuous improvement and new product implementation. Major Responsibilities: -Leads the brass casing manufacturing engineering department in researching, developing and implementing effective manufacturing processes. -Acts as project manager for new process implementation and capital equipment purchases for the brass casing area. -Provides Process Engineering support for all brass casing manufacturing. -Partners with manufacturing, design engineering and quality to identify innovative solutions to improve product flow, increase output, decrease downtime and improve quality. -Develops and implements solutions to reduce overall manufacturing costs. -Determines capacity utilization and makes recommendations to management to increase OEE and overall machine effectiveness. -Ensures process changes are documented and well communicated. -Assists in training production staff the new and revised processes. -Provides leadership in the areas of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. -May assist in the design and development of new products and tooling
Qualifications: -Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering. -Minimum of 3 years manufacturing engineering experience in the production of brass casings. Prefer 5 or more years of experience. -Experience with the design of brass casings and/or tooling is a plus. -Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods. -Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar design software. -Ability to communicate and work with all levels of the organization. -Must possess project management experience with the ability to manage multiple large scope projects. -Must be innovative, self-motivated and a team player. -Must be able to define the problem, analyze the data, draw conclusions and implement solutions.
