Typical duties include measuring and recording organization performance progress, serving as a liaison to management, auditors and participating in vendor qualification. Typically, does not supervise staff, but may provide work direction to individuals supporting a program.
Continuously monitor the Mossberg Quality Management System and corresponding ISO documentation. Support the activities of any functioning ISO 9001 committee.
Consult with top management for building/improving Quality Management System appropriate for each plant, product.
Responsible for the control and consistency of company Quality Management System documents. Draft and distribute documents of Quality Management System.
Monitoring, implement, coordinate and complete BATF&E Compliance Procedures.
Stay current on all compliance requirements to keep management and supervisors informed and up to date; make recommendations on any necessary actions to be taken.
Ensure compliance with all domestic federal, state and local Firearms regulations including the Gun Control Act of 1968, the National Firearms Act, and the Arms Export Control Act of 1976 through audits and investigations. Specifically, these regulations include, but are not limited, to Firearms markings, Customer and Vendor tracking and maintenance, Regulatory reporting, Agency tracing requests.
Maintain secure files with ATF regulatory records in accordance with the mandated retention policy. Ensure compliance regarding the transfers of firearms among Company employees. Coordinate and monitor ATF compliance using corporate policies.
Prepare ATF forms and documents as necessary to support importation, transfers, manufacturing and corporate compliance administration.
Make recommendations to Management regarding changes and improvements in operations to achieve more effective and streamlined compliance.
Conduct internal audit activities in conjunction with the Executive VP & General Counsel. Coordinates the remediation of deficiencies discovered during audits and sources other operational personnel in remediation efforts.
Develop and maintain a central repository of procedures for reconciliation of all ATF forms. Regularly perform audits of the Company’s records with NFA registrations per ATF records.
Perform any related research and necessary remediation and analyze and investigate any differences to determine causes, and then make the appropriate adjustments.
Follow all departmental and plant safety rules and regulations. Participate in special projects, as required.
Perform departmental and company-wide firearms inventory and other duties as assigned.
AS Degree or related work experience.
Background in Firearms/Quality/Compliance
2 years experience in Manufacturing or similar environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Work/Excel/etc.
Able to travel - 10 percent.
Knowledge of ISO 9000/Safety/ATF Compliance.
Other related legal firearm regulatory knowledge.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
