Organizes media relations and events for SONA’s product lines to create and maintain a favorable public image of the Company and its messages, in alignment with Company guidelines and standards.
Executes public and media relations strategies for the company for all product lines, according to company policy.
Coordinates product placement/loaners for industry VIPs.
Aids in developing and maintaining relationships with industry writers.
Oversees the competition shooter program.
Evaluates PR opportunities via company sales directors and TSRs.
Represents SONA at community projects; public, social, and business gatherings; industry hunts; and other events as the business need dictates.
Assists with the coordination of corporate relations and sponsorships with trade organizations, such as NRA, SCI, etc.
Plans several aspects of annual hunt schedule, coordinates attendance of company representatives, and works with Communications Coordinator to procure product used in such hunts.
Aids in the creation and distribution of press releases to approved media sources.
Maintains company’s PR presence on the internet via bloggers/websites.
Serves as a technical company resource for product knowledge.
Communicates with writers and VIPs to manage the distribution and return of product samples.
Prepares reports and presentations on relevant activities.
Attends trade and consumer shows and hunts as needed.
Plans and organizes annual SHOT show PR event.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing and/or Public Relations from four-year college or university; and minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of hunting and/or shooting sports industry.
Knowledge of public relations and advertising processes and procedures.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven ability to effectively resolve business issues.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Proven ability to gather and analyze data, draw logical conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
Computer proficiency to include Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Position requires at least 50% travel
