Our goal at Provident Arms is to have a Gun Store that excels in professionalism, while at the same time offers the feel of a local small town atmosphere. (Kind of like the Floyds Barber Shop of the Gun Store Industry). This position encompasses all aspects of running a retail gun store. First and foremost is customer service. This candidate would have outstanding customer service skills with a desire to make customers feel at ease, along with an extensive knowledge of firearms. In essence, you need to be a very likeable person with the experience and knowledge to back it up.
We are looking for a progressive minded person who appreciates the values and virtues of doing business with a personal touch.
This is an in-house full-time position with normal daytime hours. Store hours are Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Extended hours may be required from time to time.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Be prepared and capable of running the store in Owner's absence.
Work closely with the Owner/Manager per specifications of operational practices.
Manage the FFL and ATF Form 4473 processes using Gun Store Master Software.
Manage the preparation, maintenance, and process of transfer forms for NFA and ATF.
Manage acquisition and disposition of FFL and NFA items.
Ensure that bound books and electronic logs are accurately maintained.
Receive and prepare new items for display and sale.
Answers phone calls and assist or forward as required.
Assist customers with firearms or related product purchases.
Follow through on special orders or requested items from customers.
Communicate with the Owner on a real time and frequent basis for items of concern.
Make suggestions and give input on operation processes and improvement ideas.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Perform routine inventory functions on a monthly basis.
Keep up to date on new firearms and industry trends.
Keep displays, counters and store in neat and orderly state at all times.
Knowledge of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) requirements and forms
Prior retail store experience
Outstanding communication and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task and stay calm in busy times
Ability to laugh and have fun while working hard
Ability to “check your ego at the door” and keep customers desires first
Experience listing and managing items on Gunbroker and other online websites.
Three (3) or more years Firearms Sales Experience or in a position which requires in depth knowledge of firearms
Proficient in use of PC and Microsoft Office
Ability to solve problems and overcome setbacks
Strong attention to detail
Excellent work history and background
Background Check and Drug Screen Required
