Responsible to pull sales data, evaluate and analyze said data over time. Creates forecasts for future sales trends and presents conclusions to Director or Vice President of Sales. Responsible for the replenishment and demand forecasting functions for assigned categories within the Sales Department. Position requires an advanced understanding of specific aspects of work and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Sets objectives and delivers results with a short-term, operational focus.

Collect and analyze data to evaluate existing and potential clients, markets, products and business opportunities.
Research and evaluate economic, competitor, market, industry and customer growth trends and conditions.
Collect and analyze data to evaluate monthly and annual sales goals, quotas and forecasts.
Collect and analyze customer inventories on a monthly basis to evaluate opportunities, customer sales trends, and promotion performance.
Develop and maintain electronic systems to track and predict seasonal demand, industry shifts and customer buying changes.
Use available programs such as Scope and Gearfire to identify sales trends and performance as compared to customer sales data.
Recommend action plans to resolve sales issues, adjust field inventories, promote certain products and streamline supply chain, merchandising or promotional activities.
Analyze orders by SKUs to determine which items have excess or insufficient inventory quantity levels.
Recommend adjustments to product forecasts to accommodate promotional activities, consumption trends, advertising campaigns and marketing changes to prices.
Recommend programs to be run at Trade shows by customer channel.
Track and maintain sales performance at Trade shows and keep records of show performance.
Prepare content for sales meetings; Examples: prepare Power Point presentations, provide customer performance information such as purchase history in units and dollars, customer ranking, outline recommended product listing and special make up opportunities.
Prepare available inventory listing to sales team on a weekly basis.
Prepare monthly reports requested by customers.
Maintain updated price lists.
Prepare & maintain any documents needed by customers for new products; set up information, weights, measurements, images.
Prepare on order reports to ensure production is addressing items needed by customers.
Work with IT to develop any needed programs/reports to assist in completing job
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting; supplemented by three (3) or more years of experience in sales or finance; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of sales forecasting software; familiarity with budget software and budget analysis.
Knowledge of the firearms industry.
Ability to translate financial and mathematical jargon into layman’s terms for explanatory purposes.
Ability to conduct independent research.
Expert in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
Highly detail oriented and excellent problem solving skills with minimum supervision.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments; ability to effectively manage time.

Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station and extended periods of time standing and/or walking.
Tasks are regularly performed inside without potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity. Some tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors.
