Hoffman’s Guns for the Good Guys, a family owned firearms store and indoor shooting range located in Newington, CT has an immediate opening for a seasoned Sales Manager.
Position Title: Sales Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Classification: Full-Time Able to work a flexible schedule and hours necessary to open and/or close the store including nights, weekends and holidays.
The Sales Manager contributes to Hoffman’s success by leading a team of engaged store associates to create and maintain the Hoffman’s Guns for the Good Guys experience for customers. The Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, managing the store’s sales performance, maintaining positive and productive vendor relationships, and sustaining brand equity. This is a hands-on, “on the floor”, working management position and includes store opening and closing accountability.
Sales Associate Role Model
Actively participate in the sales process. Serve as the role model for service excellence and professionalism with customers and associates.
Supervise and monitor sales associate performance with a focus on delivering service consistency. Conduct sales meetings. Assist in resolving issues that affect the store’s service, efficiency, and productivity.
Foster positive and productive relationships with our vendors, including scheduling and participating in meetings and events.
Monitor and communicate market trends for optimum product positioning. Assist management team with active communication regarding inventory management.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Ability to multi-task comfortably and accurately in a fast paced, retail environment; have good data entry proficiency and basic computer knowledge; possess excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; be positive, honest, friendly, customer-service focused and adaptable; exhibit a strong work ethic, integrity and reliability. Must be self-driven and have strong, effective leadership skills.
Minimum of 3 or more years of retail sales management experience. Previous management experience in the firearm business is a plus.
Demonstrated firearm knowledge (used and antique firearm knowledge is helpful)
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), inventory management systems and POS systems.
Strong communication skills (verbal & written) including strong relationship building skills.
Communicates well with customers to ensure that they are satisfied and that their needs are being met.
Able to work positively with management team.
Balances business needs with customer needs and builds relationships with customers. Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of one’s actions.
Demonstrates a high level of competency and knowledge in area of assigned work; sets clear goals and expectations; readily shares knowledge with others.
