Guns.com is seeking an energetic, forward-thinking operations leader with experience in logistics, e-commerce fulfillment, and compliance within the firearms industry. As a key member of the management team, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the accurate completion of orders, receipt and storage of inventory, and supporting the company’s Federal Firearm License compliance program. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
The Operations Manager will be comfortable wearing multiple hats in a start-up environment, taking on full ownership of their warehouse and compliance operations, and leading and developing their team of Fulfillment Leads and Specialists. The successful candidate will be able to exercise strong judgment and leadership, reinforce a safety-first culture, provide an excellent experience for our partners and their customers, and roll up their sleeves to actively manage fulfillment operations on the warehouse floor.

Responsible for the overall safety, quality, and production goals of fulfillment operations.
Implement and support all safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all warehouse staff, as well as develop and implement new safety initiatives to improve operations safety.
Monitor performance of warehouse staff; ensure proper coaching and development of the team; mentor team members to be able to take on roles with greater responsibility, complexity, and leadership.
Actively improve processes and systems to exceed safety, quality, and production goals.
In concert with your supervisor, review work forecasts and determine staffing needs to meet the daily, weekly, and monthly, production goals, making adjustments as is needed and appropriate.
Ability to work closely with the COO, CFO, Business Development, Customer Service Manager, Technology, Marketing, and support staff.
Travel to industry and consumer trade shows as necessary.
Consistently meets or exceeds business goals.
Specific to FFL Compliance, this individual will work alongside his/her team and superiors to drive compliant operations with world class customer service including such tasks as:
Regulatory form completion, validation, review, and filing(s) for all firearms.
Oversees, inspects, and validates the acquisition and disposition of thousands of firearms annually.
Serves as the operational leader for all routine firearms audits and regulatory inspections and sets the highest standards as the face of compliance for Guns Dot Com LLC.
Oversees, inspects, and validates all acquisition and disposition bound books are accurate and complete within all regulatory standards, both locally and nationally.
Continuously strives to ensure Guns Dot Com LLC is at the highest level of compliance and ready for any regulatory inspection.
Oversees, inspects, and validates all shipping and receiving of regulated items is executed within all regulatory standards, locally and nationally.
Routinely and effectively communicates department status including staffing needs to his/her superiors and peers.
Serves as an example of world class customer service and compliance while training his/her department and peers on similar conduct standards.
Maintains his/her cutting-edge regulatory compliance knowledge base by seeking out continuing education opportunities and events.
Routinely keeps all superiors and peers fully informed of any compliance concerns and takes prompt, effective corrective actions as well as provides alternative solutions while reviewing root-cause and preventative steps to be taken to assure compliance going forward.
Has the flexibility to change courses, projects, and systems as needed or requested by Guns Dot Com LLC Team.
A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university; a degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or other quantitative field is preferred.
Direct management experience of a combined salary and hourly workforce; experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment preferred.
Experience working with firearm manufacturers, rep groups, distributors and retailers.
Demonstrated success in building out operations and staffing at a growing facility, and experience opening a new facility.
Proven success in a retail/e-commerce corporate environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills including an ability to communicate with the senior leadership team, customers, and warehouse staff.
Ability to understand and manage to performance metrics.
Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to learn new software applications and technologies.
Prior experience with a firearms distribution process and understanding of how to navigate the industry is preferred.
Ability to work in fulfillment environment with moderate climate control.
Walking around the warehouse with great frequency; continual standing or walking.
Position has Monday-Friday daytime hours, but candidate must have the ability to adjust hours and schedule to work overtime and possibly nights and weekends to meet business needs.
