St. Louis area-based company looking to fill position of part-time gunsmith. The primary responsibility for this position is the full disassembly of a variety of firearms. This position offers competitive pay with a flexible work schedule.
Summary: Responsible for disassembly of various types of firearms (pistols, revolvers, derringers, rifles, shotguns, etc.) to create parts kits. Thoroughly and accurately describe parts kits to include make, model, caliber, serial number, barrel, finish and parts identification.
Ensure full and careful disassembly of various types of firearms
Ensure accurate description of parts kits
Ensure removal of all saleable parts from firearms
Ability to read and understand technical manuals for specific firearms
Perform hands on work with firearms including but is not limited to: cleaning, full disassembly, barrel removal-press, furniture removal
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and concentrate on multiple tasks
Must wear appropriate protective gear (i.e. eye protection, face shield, gloves, apron, etc.) when using any power equipment, tools, chemicals or hazardous materials
Exposed to various chemicals during the cleaning process.
Occasionally be exposed to loud to very loud noises in the work area
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet applications.
Must possess strong command of English language and grammar
Gunsmithing certificate a plus
Work Environment: General warehouse and light industrial conditions. Exposed to moderate to high noise levels. Ear protection required at times. Safety equipment provided.
