Manage agendas and minutes for SAAMI Technical Committee and Technical Working Group meetings on behalf of the Chairpersons.
Oversee the ongoing development of the reference ammunition program.
Manage the annual proof ammunition demand forecast process.
Manage the subscription program for reference ammunition assessment summaries to non-member organizations.
Coordinate and administer SAAMI Technical Manuals, website FAQ section and Glossary.
Manage the development, maintenance, history, and publication as appropriate, of Cartridge & Chamber (C&C) and Velocity & Pressure (V&P) barrel technical drawing packages.
Oversee the logistics of Technical Committee and Working Group meetings.
Provide technical support to Institute members, and other entities as appropriate.
Assist the Technical Committee in the collection and analysis of data in various experimental situations.
Provide technical information for the SAAMI web site.
Maintain liaison with national and international law enforcement agencies and assist them when necessary.
Maintain liaison with governmental agencies and arsenals.
Maintain liaison with C.I.P. (Commission Internationale Permanente) Permanent Office and Member Delegates and attend meetings as required.
Maintain liaison with other pertinent standards setting organizations.
Prepare the draft annual Technical Committee operating budget on behalf of SAAMI Executive Director and Technical Committee Chairs.
Prepare the Technical Committee report for meetings of the SAAMI Board of Directors.
May be asked to testify in hearings and/or legal proceedings on behalf of SAAMI.
Oversee and maintain all Technical Committee master files.
Monitor industry related periodicals, reports and media releases and update committee members as required.
Act as Technical Advisor to the Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners (AFTE).
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing, design and/or quality control of manufacture of ammunition and/or firearms.
Knowledge of firearm/ammunition industry and related history.
Knowledge of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard setting process is very beneficial.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Excellent management, speaking and presentation skills.
Proficient in SolidWorks.
Helpful to be familiar with Visio.
