Houston, TX based manufacturer, who primarily outsources overseas is now seeking a highly motivated Project Manager with a PMP (Project Management Professional) Certificate within the firearms and outdoor sports shooting industry. The qualified candidate must have the ability to conduct project appraisal, project prioritization, and project coordination. Projects may include but are not limited to product research and development (R&D), product testing and evaluation (T&E), quality assurance (QA), packaging design, new product launches, sales and marketing projects, operational process improvements, administrative projects, etc. MUST have project management experience in global supply chain and/or manufacturing fields. Must be detail oriented, well organized with strong communication skills. Only looking for serious long-term applicants with an outstanding work ethic and ability to meet deadlines. Multilingual (English, Mandarin and/or Japanese) is preferred, but not required. This position will be collaborating with leaders in multiple departments and reporting to the Director of Supply Chain for Primary Arms Optics (the “Division”).

Duties and Responsibilities:
Initiates the project
Aligns projects to business goals
Defines the project’s objectives and scope of work
Plans the project
Conducts project appraisal and evaluation
Prioritizes projects based on demand and change of business needs
Sets up project road map and comprehensive execution plan
Visualizes timelines, milestones, and tasks in a Gantt Chart
Plans and allocates resources
Executes the project
Responsible for driving project progression from beginning to end
Champions standardized processes and procedures to reduce project lead-time and shortens time-to-market
Identifies roadblocks, bottlenecks and removes obstacles
Ensures all team members and factories are aware of and meet all deadlines
Monitors and controls the project
Tracks and coordinates the details of all projects for the Division
Drafts and recaps meeting notes and conducts follow up
Monitors compliance within the scope of work and the defined project objectives
Tracks and monitors quality of output and the impact of output on project delivery and profitability
Ensures that a document control procedure is in place and is followed
Arranges and organizes files for project tracking and archive purposes
Communicates across internal divisions and departments effectively
Ensures effective and efficient communication with the factories; which will include communicating with the factories outside of our normal business hours
Close the project
Ensures projects’ on-time completion upon each milestones and final delivery
Cancels projects that are under performing
Reevaluates and recaps projects to summarize successes and failures
Must have a Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certificate
BA, BS, or Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related fields
At least five (5) years of work experience in managing projects for retail/consumer product manufacturing
At least two (2) years of work experience managing projects with overseas factories
Strong understanding of Asian business culture/practices
Must understand engineering process, manufacturing process, logistics process, and marketing new product launch process
Must have excellent knowledge in the following areas: project integration management, project scope management, project schedule management, project cost management, project quality management, project communications management, project risk management, project procurement management, and project stakeholder management
Superior level of proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, MS Project, PowerPoint, Screensharing software, Video conference call software, and Outlook emails
Rational decision making with critical thinking and unbiased opinions
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively within and across functions
Must have adequate knowledge of government rules and regulations including, but not limited to U.S. and foreign Customs, ITAR, EAR, FTC, state local laws, European laws, environmental protection laws, trademarks, patents, trade dress, copyrights, etc.
Detail oriented, strong interpersonal communication skills, team player
Outstanding work ethic and passion to grow with the company
Must be willing to relocate to Houston, TX, if not local.
Must be willing to travel domestically and\or internationally up to 10%

Must be 21 years of age or older
Must be able to pass background check and drug test
Experience managing projects in Firearms Optics Manufacturing
Work experience using NetSuite or other Oracle platforms
