Service the NBS Membership by negotiating effective Vendor Programs.
Set a positive example for fellow associates in honesty, ethics, morals, and leadership.
Communicate regularly and effectively with the Director of Merchandising and Senior Category Managers regarding tasks, projects, and negotiations.
Create dialogue with key vendor personnel to attract companies that are presently not doing business with NBS.
Construct personal agendas, strategies and tactics for NBS Markets, major trade shows and industry events followed by evaluations of effectiveness of these efforts.
Accumulate and summarize trending information for internal discussion and distribution to the NBS Membership.
Maintain a pulse on the real world of buying and selling by frequently communication (digitally, verbally and in-person) with NBS Members and Vendors.
Continuously educate themselves on assigned product categories, trends, and changes in the business environment.
Maintain proficiency in item, purchase/sales order maintenance, and Vendor Program entry.
Work with and/or assist other staff members in the performance of their duties when necessary.
Actively pursue special buy opportunities in the form of overruns, overstocks, or closeout goods.
Promote NBS Markets to current, former, and prospective Vendors to enhance the market experience for the NBS Membership.
Willing to travel. The annual travel percentage for this position is 10%.

Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
A self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.
An Outdoor-oriented individual with a competent knowledge of sporting goods and gear.
Outside sales and/or retail sales experience.
