Job Summary: Retail Operations Manager
Responsible for daily management of retail staff leadership focusing on safety, customer service and regulatory compliance.
Ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the retail department.
Knowledge and application of all applicable regulations including ATF, EPA, OHSA, CA DOJ, and local agencies.
Recruit, interview, select, train, guide, and evaluate staff to support and grow sales/profits. Collaborate with management team on annual business planning.
Responsibilities and Duties: Retail Operations Manager
Provide leadership to your direct reports.
Ensure the effective management of associates performance and behavior by establishing a culture in which the management team provides appropriate feedback, recognition, coaching and development, corrective action, performance improvement planning, etc. Issue appropriate counseling and disciplinary action to those associates who fail to meet our performance standards.
Manage retail operations, making decisions regarding service, following up on work orders, and ordering retail inventory.
Manage overall payroll to ensure budget compliance while maximizing staffing coverage throughout the store. Ultimately responsible for all recruitment initiatives, hiring decisions, and training compliance for all positions in the store.
Oversee flow of inventory; make ordering and merchandising decisions for the store. Upholds company standards for merchandise presentation by managing the planning process for execution of established floor sets, signing requirements, price changes, recovery procedures, in-stock processes, etc.
Perform Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities for the entire store, including management of opening and closing procedures, monetary assets, the customer experience, associate activities, and other duties as required.
Ensures the efficient daily operations of the store.
Ensures compliance with all policies and procedure related to safety, loss prevention, cash handling procedures and standard operating procedures, as well as adherence to laws and guidelines of external governing entities.
Responsible for all compliance aspects of store operations.
Qualifications and Skills: Retail Operations Manager
Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Education
Three years of retail management experience or five years of related management experience. Five years of customer service experience. Computer proficiency to include POS, word processing and spreadsheets. High energy – when necessary, arrive early and stay late until the job is complete. Superior problem solving, reasoning, and conflict resolution skills. Effective planning, organizational abilities, and attention to detail. Flexibility on work hours to include weekends and holidays. Must be able to meet Federal and California requirements to process firearms transactions. California DOJ Certificate of Eligibility (C.O.E.) required.
