The Director of Defense and Law Enforcement is responsible for increasing sales and growing accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a DLE sales strategy and execution plan, establishing metrics (KPIs) and measuring metrics to determine the effectiveness of sales plan. They will also manage multiple sales managers, program managers and inside sales team members to accomplish revenue and earnings objectives for the manufacturer. The Director of DLE will also monitor industry trends in order to identify emerging markets and develop plans to utilize those markets to grow revenue.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute the Regional, State, County, and Municipal DLE Sales Strategy and Business Plan.
Develop and manage relationships to State, County, and Municipal law enforcement agencies and their distributors.
Identify and build new key target accounts including DLE distributors, ranges, government contracts, and training centers.
In conjunction with Product Management, identify and bridge gaps in product line to expand sales opportunities in both finished goods for DLE and components for sales.
Work in coordination with supply chain, production and purchasing staff to ensure on time delivery of all orders.
Oversee DLE and Customer Service to ensure that sales support and administration programs produce efficient operations, maintain customer goodwill, and achieve business objectives for customers.
Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all assigned sales and business development initiatives.
Use expertise, skills, and ability to perform all duties, and tasks, and pursue the goals, set forth by the company.
Retain and grow existing accounts.
Promote and sell products from all product lines to DLE customers, as required.
Develop unique and innovative programs that can be implemented with key target accounts.
Travel in support of sales meetings, customer site visits and trade shows.
Other duties may be assigned based on business needs and conditions.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent public speaking skills and comfort delivering presentations to both agency, large audiences, and webinars.
Experience selling related products in law enforcement channels.
Armed Forces or Law Enforcement experience preferred.
Strong initiative and self-starter.
Experience working in a multinational corporation or multinational environment preferred.
Familiarization with Microsoft Office (especially strong in PowerPoint + Excel), all software programs for presentations (including webinars).
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 - 10 years of law enforcement sales management experience, or similar combination of education and experience.
Directly related experience selling firearms, ammunition or accessories to law enforcement customers is strongly preferred.
