Job description
O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc., a leading manufacturer of sporting firearms is seeking a talented Customer Service Specialist to join our rapidly growing sales and marketing group. This position is full-time and based out of Mossberg’s corporate headquarters in North Haven, Connecticut.
Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the ideal candidate will have a broad range of skills and experience in supporting key customer service objectives and goals. The person in this role will provide direct telephone and email contact with product customers and end-users to answer product-related questions; provide troubleshooting support, facilitate product repair returns, and process customer orders. In addition, s/he will provide general support for the sales and marketing department where needed.
Responsibilities:
- Work as a company Customer Service Specialist and provide consumer support via telephone and email covering the following topics:
*Product-related questions
*Troubleshooting support
*Product repair and returns
*Product order processing
- Double-check all e-commerce-based orders for consistency.
- Work closely with the shipping department and provide support for all orders on hold or back-ordered, and process exception reports, and by processing any relevant freight claims.
- Support the finance department by working to match bills of lading with sales orders and other types of relevant information for processing, and file all sales invoices once released.
- Track orders and provide proof of delivery when requested by the customer.
- Issue any Return Goods Authorization / Return Merchandise Authorization forms as deemed necessary.
- Provide maintenance support to customer accounts as necessary.
- Perform other department-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong project/time management skills with the ability to manage various programs simultaneously.
- Ability to build business partnerships with internal and external resources.
- Must be a creative thinker with the ability to develop, test, and execute new ideas.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Team player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.
- Understanding of the firearms and outdoor sports industries (preferred but not necessary).
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working within a corporate ERP system (e.g. Oracle, SAP, etc.) is highly desirable.
Travel Requirements:
- (5%) Occasional Travel Required.
