General Purpose: The Gunsmith will facilitate all assigned repairs and modifications needed for firearms sent in for warranty service and repair.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to work independently to trouble shoot, diagnose and repair common and uncommon firearms failures and issues.
- Disassemble and reassemble different models of firearms.
- Install all parts needed to make repairs
- Perform function/fire test and clean to evaluate all issues with firearms sent in for repair.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager to determine warranty responsibility for firearm failure issues and or damage.
- Operate all machinery needed to facilitate repair.
- Use NAV to obtain information and to list repairs done and parts used.
- Document work done by writing concise description of repairs.
- Maintain clean work area, equipment, and tools.
Performance Measurements:
- Gunsmith must work professionally and productively showing the ability to be efficient and to utilize time appropriately.
- All work must be performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures.
- Good working relationships and cooperation with all managers and employees.
- Uphold the professional and business reputation of Chiappa USA.
Skills Required:
- Ability to use a personal computer and related software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to operate all needed tools and equipment used for firearm repair and modification.
- Skilled in metal fabrications, grinding, welding and or metal chemistry is a plus
Education and Experience Requirements:
- College/Trade School degree preferred but not required.
- Previous firearm repair experience is a plus but not required.
- Must possess a history of handling and shooting a variety of firearms.
- Must understand the differences between ammo, powder charges and overall ammo dynamics
General Job Requirements:
- Regular attendance is required.
- Work mandatory overtime, including weekends, at the discretion of the company when needed.
- Work in an area that lead and chemicals are present daily.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

- Physical Mobility: Constant mobility is required. Ability to lift 50 Lbs. Ability to lift, shoulder and fire multiple firearms per day is required.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate light duty and heavy-duty equipment used to facilitate firearm repair and modification.
- Vision: A sighted person to read and fully inspect firearms and read all repair and part manuals.
- Speech/Hearing: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
