Guns.com is seeking an energetic, forward-thinking, professional Business Development Representative with experience in retail, consumer and corporate frameworks within the firearms industry for a position based out of our Burnsville, MN Headquarters or remote office.
As a key member of the business development team, the Business Development Representative will be responsible for identifying, presenting to and onboarding firearms dealers to the Guns.com network through phone presentations, emails, online webinars and select in person meetings.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Cultivation of business relationships with firearm retailers and pawnbrokers
Persuasively present the Guns.com dealer model and all differentiating factors through phone conversations, online webinars and occasional on-site meetings as approved
Deploy a consultative approach by helping and sometimes challenging dealers to start or increase their online sales strategy
Increase firearms listings with approved dealers through cold calling, networking, industry contacts and referrals
Work unsupervised in a remote setting and display an organized structured workflow with aggressive rigor around daily retailer engagement
Continue to engage current dealers in the Guns.com network to maintain, enhance/improve, or increase firearm listings
Communicate new and unique business services to the dealer network through several communication channels
Travel to industry and consumer trade shows as needed
Consistently meets or exceeds business goals set by Director of Business Development
Ability to work closely with the Director of Business Development, Executive Team, Customer Service Director, Sales Operations, Technology, Marketing, and support staff
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a business development, sales or leadership role within the firearms industry
· Displays an elevated perspective of the retail firearms industry and demonstrates a good understanding of pain points dealers endure
Prior experience within the firearms distribution process and general knowledge of the different sales channels within the firearms industry
Ability to effectively communicate new and unique business services to firearms retailers through several communication channels
Experience as a strong networked communicator including remote online presentations, social media, and select in person meetings
Ability and willingness to spend several hours a day on the phone engaged with firearms dealers and pawnbrokers working the sales funnel process
Ability to work unsupervised from a home-based office or remote setting
Proficient with technology including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
