JP Enterprises, an industry leader in the production of AR parts and rifles, is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in testing and development to ensure quality and efficiency.
Position Overview:
Our engineering department needs new talent to flesh out our team. As a small company, expect a diversity of challenges. The job will focus on design work, but expect to deal with quality, process and manufacturing problems as well. As a design engineer, we expect someone who can self-educate to overcome new challenges in addition to bringing a depth of knowledge to the table. We need someone who can strike that balance of following a plan and working with a group well while keeping an initiative and individual drive.

Requirements:
Relevant Design Experience: We require an engineer who being real design experience to the table. We regularly deal with mechanical design that can require knowledge of but is not limited to; joint design, dynamics, stress analysis, materials or fluid mechanics.
In addition to bringing relevant design knowledge, we really need an individual who can learn effectively. We are want to push barriers which inevitably means we need to learn. This can mean grinding though academic work, reading old military reports our breaking out your old textbooks. We don’t want someone who is put off or intimidated by things that they are unfamiliar with.
Project Management: As a design engineer, it is crucial to have the ability manage projects from concept to completion. This can range from orchestrating market research and feedback, prototyping and validating to final packaging design and assisting in product launch.
Technical Writing and Communication Skills: This is critical for communicating internally and externally, above simple communication the ability to put complex and abstract thoughts into writing is crucial. If you can write clearly, than you can probably think clearly.
Engineering Reports and Testing: The skill to design and conduct a useful test is a must. This would include the ability to understand how to setup a proper scientific hypothesis and test it. Understanding concepts like controls and defining variables within a practical setting is important.
Process Engineering: This is the ability to create, improve or just document a new process. JP is a company defined by quality and quality is often a result of good process.
Manufacturing Print Familiarity: this would include the ability to understand geometric tolerance or GD&T as well how to measure these concepts on actual parts.
Aptitude With Measurement Instruments: Familiarity with basic measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers and gage pins is required
Bachelors or higher in a related engineering discipline
This is an on-site only position
Bonus:
Solidworks in specific, but any skills with draftsmanship or 3D Cad is beneficial
Any experience reading or writing patents is very helpful
Experience in the world of machining including but not limited to skills such as operating a manual mill or lath, CNC machining or coding a CMM
Ability to shoot, this would include the ability to shoot precise rifle groups at 100 yards and all is supporting skills.
Compete in firearms sports; we have plenty of people who work for us competing in 3 Gun, PRS and USPSA to mention a few.
