General Purpose:
The Channel Manager, Independent Dealers will provide leadership and execution of the strategic initiatives for Benelli USA’s family of brands into the independent dealer channel. This position will drive collaboration and alignment with key stakeholders in marketing, product management, finance, and customer service as well our external sales teams striving to achieve best-in-class service levels for Benelli USA to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction and fulfillment.
What you’ll do:
As a Channel Manager, you’ll be a part of our National Retail Channel team, responsible for profitability, promotion, pricing, assortment planning, driving strategic initiatives and new product plans for key growth categories within the independent dealer channel. You’ll get to:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate strategic initiatives and marketing activities to achieve operating and budgetary plans for the business.
- Learn and understand the Channel P&L to make sound business decisions to drive top and bottom lines.
- Collaborates with key accounts, sales team, supply chain, product management, marketing, and finance to support sales activities and oversee coordination of product allocation and program, promotion, advertising, or event fulfillment.
- Oversee forecast for Independent Channel working with Business Analyst role annually and monthly updates collaborating with supply chain.
- Collaborate with Business Analyst on reporting monthly sales numbers, performance-to-goal tracking and measuring objectives for each sales territory on Independent Dealer sales.
- Develop annually sell-in promotions that tie to product drivers working with VP of Sales, marketing, product management, finance and supply chain, track effectiveness and recommend changes for improvement as needed.
- Periodic travel with field sales team to present new products, merchandise, programs, and promotional strategies to Independent Dealer owners/ buyers to gain buy-in, product placement and stay current with the competition.
- Interface with marketing and product management on in-store point-of-sale materials.
- Responds to sales (inside/ outside) & customer service inquiries.
- Manage annual promotional budget spend with sales team.
- Supports the company MAP policy to control pricing issues.
- Work with customer service to track & support new dealer acquisition, product lines and levels.
Non-Essential Duties:
- Perform specific and delegated duties as assigned by management.
Performance Measurements:
- Sales achievement – overall company sales and channel sales will be measured against goal
- Forecast achievement – Monthly forecast/re-forecast completed on time
- Forecasting accuracy – Constantly works to improve forecast accuracy to reach goal
- Territory Communication – Monthly communication with Sales Team to support achievement of monthly sales numbers, and performance-to-goal metrics
- Program execution – Customer Service ship on time metric

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years in product, sales and/ or marketing experience within the retail space.
- Strong understanding of key business and financial metrics such as sales, gross margins, operating margins, and inventory turns.
- Effective project management and time management skills with attention to detail and ability to work cross-functionally within the organization.
- Ability to multi-task, and manage deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Pivot Tables in Excel, Power Point.
- Excellent working knowledge of ERP, JDE preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, written, verbal and presentation.
